A state-level Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on DigiLocker & eProcurement System was held today at Nagaland, jointly organized by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DIT&C), Government of Nagaland.
The highlight of the event was the official launch and onboarding of five critical government e-services onto the DigiLocker platform, marking a significant step in the state's digital governance journey. The services launched include:
Birth Certificate
Death Certificate
Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) Card
Government ID Card
Inner Line Permit (ILP)
The services were formally launched by Shri Sethrongkyu Sangtam, Hon’ble Advisor for IT&C, Economics & Statistics, and Evaluation, Government of Nagaland. In his address, Shri Sangtam emphasized the importance of digital access to essential services for improving citizen convenience and fostering transparency. He said, “This initiative will empower citizens by providing secure, paperless access to vital documents anytime, anywhere through DigiLocker.”
The programme began with a felicitation ceremony and a welcome address by Er. Sabou Yashu, Director of IT&C. Shri Ajay Kumar, Additional Director, NeGD, gave a brief speech highlighting the broader objectives of the Digital India Mission. Smt. Arenla Jamir, Commissioner & Secretary, IT&C, also spoke on the significance of digital public infrastructure in streamlining governance.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Er. Asono Mor, Additional Director, IT&C.
