The Department of Information technology & Communication in collaboration with National Payment Corporation of India Ltd (NPCI) held the 3rd e-Naga Summit on 18th November, 2017 under the theme “Making Nagaland a Leader in Digital Payment”. The summit was graced by Dr. Longriniken, Parliamentary Secretary of Information and Technology Communication (IT&C) as Chief Guest
In his address,Dr. Longriniken expressed the need to collaborate with the public, private and people sectors to create new solutions, new businesses and new wealth. He exuded confidence that the event will create great interest among the general public on the methods of digital payment and help in the acceleration of e-Governance adoption in the State. With advancement in technology, he said cash are not used anymore outside the state and in such a situation Nagas are confounded with the little knowledge of digital transactions.
He said the Digi Dhan Mela and e-Naga Summit will enlighten the people on the various methods of digital payments and transactions. The parliamentary secretary also appealed the people to adopt a mind-set that is receptive to information and communication technology.
Representatives from the banks like UCO, IDBI, State Co-operative Bank, Bank of Baroda, Deferal bank and others attended the summit.
