Training on Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) held

Training on Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System was held at the Directorate of IT&C on 28th and 29th June 2018. The overall objective of the training was to build the capacity of the public Biometric Attendance nodal officers on the State Government is to sensitize on the day to day usage of the web based portal and various Utilities relating to monitoring of the Attendance system.

The resource persons for training were Er. Asono Mor, Sr. Program Officer and Er. Kevilienuo, Project engineer. Overall 86 participant comprising of designated IT nodal Officers as well as Biometric Admin from 63 department attended the training.

Feedbacks were also collected from the participants regarding the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System, some of which are given below :

• Need for Stable Internet Connectivity : Since the attendance system is fully Internet based, unless the connectivity in the State is improved there is a great difficulty in daily usage of the system.
  Imposing the system, and whereas the department has to rely on the manual register on all days when Internet connectivity is not there will defeat the vision itself.
• The State Government has to come up with Attendance Rules to make the system effective : Unless the State Government comes up with Attendance rules, the employees will not feel the need to come on time to punch in the attendance. Also it will discourage those employees who are regular at work, if no action is taken on defaulting / irregular staffs. Marking attendance alone will not be effective.
